F1 Grand Prix' 08

The adult cgs organized a car rally last Sat.
They called it "F1 Grand Prix"! (pronounced as gròN pree)

In this game, the teams "race" against one another in cars and play "Amazing Race" in the east of Spore.

Check out the various stations!!!

Station 1- "Supermarket Craze", Eunos

Players need to purchase the cheapest item with noun = initial of their name.

E.g. Delphine... Donut

Station 2- "Smelly Tofu", Geylang

Players need to locate the shop that sells "Smelly Tofu"

Hee... such "delicacy" is not only available exclusively in Taiwan

Station 3- "Ice Kacang Decor", Old Airport road

Players need to decorate the ice kacang with what they have bought from "Supermarket Craze"

Station 4- "Maze", East Coast Park

Players need to answer a question correctly before they can dash inside the maze and search for clues.

After conquering all stations, the group gathered at Pinevale Condo, Tampines Street 73. On the way to the destination, the teams need to buy the... Biggest & Cheapest durian!!!

=

And for that... one cg actually spent S$70 for a BIG durian, hoping to outshine the rest. But little did they expect that there was a TWIST in the game!

The teams were not competing on size but on the number of seeds! Furthermore, they had to guess the specific figure!

In the end, the winning durian is one that has 20 seeds and it only costs S$4! WOO!!!

In the midst of fun...the atmosphere gradually became quieter...Y?

Ha ha... The teams were found enjoying their durians, sucking the creamy custard flesh off the seed.

That day... the whole function room was intoxicated with a strong & powerful "aroma" of durian. Del and I left the place with a unique "durian perfume". On our way back, I wonder whether it was the favour of man or our durian scent that brought about special privileges to sit on buses & trains... (Nah... Just joking...)

I enjoyed myself that day.

The adult cgs are quite excited about games too. Though they are "milder" compared to the youths but nevertheless, games being games... simply caused the "kid" in them to come ALIVE!!! :)

Back to School!

=

Both Selena and I went to support Jing Ying in her dance item during "Speech Day".
=
The tour around her school brought back fond memories of my secondary school days.
I recall those "free" days after school, my friends and I would go to the classroom, perform role-play as teachers, "act-say... act-say" (hokkien), stand in front of the whole class, teaching our favourite subjects while writing on the "blackboards" (back then...) Ha ha...
=
Anyway, it's EXAM WEEK for most secondary school students!
Amelia, Jing Ying and all students out there... 加油! You're an OVERCOMER!

Hang in there... Freedom is coming...

Treadmill vs. Open-Air

-
I hit the gym again!!! For the 2nd consecutive week during Mon lunch time!

My company has a membership plan with Planet Fitness and the staff frequent the nearest one at Great World City.

My "Gym-Fanatic" colleagues who seem to be "wanting to join some beauty-pageants", have been hitting the gym 3-4 times per week and they keep invitg me to join them.

I like sports esp. jogging!!!

But... I dislike jogging on a treadmill (like what I wrote on profile)

To me, it is like "going nowhere" on the same spot. I seriously do not like the idea of being "stationary".

Last week, despite listening to the upbeat in-house music, and scanning the various plasma screens, each showing different TV channels, I got BORED after jogging for 5 minutes.

After pressing the "STOP" button, I went to the lounge, took some magazines and returned to the treadmill. While flipping through the pages of magazines as I run along, I gradually felt better. I felt my time spent was then more fruitful.

Today, I chose the treadmill which comes with a mounted personal TV.

Plugging my ear phones into the sound system, I started surfing the different channels as I jogged.

=

--

In addition, I even positioned the treadmill mini-fan to blow gently towards my face.

Jogging is now a breeze... Haha!!!

After a 20-min jog, with a 5-min stretching before and after... I took a quick shower, grabbed some sushi from Ichiban Boshi at basement and shared a cab back to the office with my colleagues.

Back at work, I was ENERGETIC to continue the rest of my day.

So... Treadmill or Open-Air... Which is BETTER?

Here's a comparison...

TREADMILL
Enjoy the cool air-con while sweating out

Maintain your fair skin tone (won't get tanned skin... for fair-skin lover)

Do some reading or watch news simultaneously

Somethg funny to add... After u come out from the treadmill, you will find yourself havg this "moving-forward" motion; liken being on a TRAVOLATOR!

OPEN-AIR

Fresh air
The carefree feeling of being out in the open!
Admire the beautiful scenery; in touch w nature

I guess it is an individual preference thing.
You form your own verdict.

=

Well... if I must really choose one... I will go for "Open-Air"!

It is more "fuss-free" for me cos at least... I do not have to take a shower for 3 times...

=

Simply love SAT morning jog!

I can hv a nice & relaxing jog (w/o havg to rush for work), enjoy my breakfast + papers before getting on with the rest of the activites on Sat.

=

Whichever way preferred, just contine to WORK OUT!!!

"Winners are those who never quit!"

(caught this at the entrance of ladies' locker)

And you know what?
=
Just yesterday, I played sport too...

The ET zone leaders & helpers gathered at Clarke Quay open field for "Captain's Ball"!!!

--

-
After a while, instead of using a ball, we tossed SOMETHING ELSE for a change...

- What are those pieces on the ground?
.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Lettuce!!!

Ha ha... If the leaders play... the leaders can REALLY play....
=
After the game, we went to fill our hungry stomach at Sketches, Roberston Quay...

It's a beautiful evening together... and what a way to end the week!!! :)

Karaoke!!!

The cg went for a karaoke session last Sat!
=
We hit "PARTYWORLD" in Park Hotel, Orchard (formerly known as Crown Prince Hotel).
=
This was the 1st time our cg had KTV together but the group was very QUICK to WARM UP!
=
Initially, we gave each other preference to SELECT songs but after a few started to sing, the rest became very "INSPIRED" and couldn't wait to "GRAB" the remote control and "PUNCH" those codes of our favourite pieces.
=
Some even CUT queue and INSERTED the songs... in order to sing 1st!!! Ha ha!!! :)
=
Holding the mic, we began singing UNRESERVEDLY in the room.
Some even STOOD to attain that optimum voice quality!
-
(Jingying's friend... Wang Feng)
-
2/3 of cg came!
-
Our "Busy man" cum "Rare guest for fellowship" Mr. Sim Yongwei turned up too!
To our surprise, this bro KNOWS quite a lot of NEW songs in town!
-
Sarah, another "Song Queen" was happily singing along as well... while others were holding the mic. This girl KNOWS almost every single song that we sang!!! :)
-
(Sarah & I)
-
Amelia and our Easter friends Jing Ying and Niji joined us as well!
-
Jing Ying is another "KTV Queen". She "chionged" KTV 6 times last month, hitting KTV at least once each week!!!
=
(Jing, Amelia, Jing Ying, Selena)
-
-
Steffy is not ard (back in Indo)... but there's Amelia to ask Joanne to make FUNNY FACE!!!
All right! Here's one...
=
-
While singing, we even had a PERCUSSION TEAM to bring the atmosphere to another "HIGH"!!! Ha ha...
=
-
In the midst of all fun, we also celebrated our new friend NIJI's birthday!!!
-
Happy Bdae girl!!!
-
Dun "play-play" with this girl... She may be gentle but she's quite well-versed in "tae kwon do"! *Woo....*
=
On this note, I cant help but to think of our cg conversation last Sun during fellowship.
-
We started with "Biz Etiquette" and evolved to "Demure girls"...
-
In our cg, the really demure girls are... Kaiyi, Sarah and Shiying...
=
The rest... Erm... "What you see is what you get" Ha ha.... :p
-

--
Seizing the HAPPY HOUR promotion between 4p.m. - 8p.m., we had a DELIGHTFUL time singing one song after another!!!
-
And guess what?
-
There were 2 PAGES of songs in QUEUE when we left for dinner at Cineleisure... :p

Looking forward to the next Karaoke session....

leavg u with the song "今天你要嫁给我" by David Tsao...

This song is a hot favourite among us... so nice and catchy that we sang it TWICE!
